Tamlin Shepard is considered one of the top blues guitarists on the West Coast, Tamlin Shepard basically learned guitar by listening to old blues players. Born in New Orleans he would spend most of his days at concert events, festivals and when you was older in clubs listening to and enjoying the blues. Tamlin listens, play, and produce all kinds of music – bluegrass, ragtime, country, jazz, Latin, funk, rock, you-name-it – but his personality as a musician is rooted in the blues.

Tamlin Shepard began his career in New Orleans as a hot-shot guitarist who could play any style of music and excel at them all. At an early age, inspired by great artist like, Robert Johnson, Buddy Guy, Charlie Musselwhite, Lee Hooker, Jr. Wells, Jimmy Witherspoon, James Cotton, John Mayall, Bessie Smith, Memphis Jug Band, Gus Cannon’s Jug Stompers, Frank Stokes, Blind Old Tom Anderson, Sleepy John Estes, Robert Wilkins and Big Boy just to name a few, immersed himself in all the blues, ragtime, folk, jazz, and country music he could lay his fingers on. In college, he studied music theory but once classes ended, Tamlin hit the club scene to find work.

Tamlin Shepard moved out west to Los Angele where he found plenty of work for a blues guitarist with his talents and quickly found himself workikng with greats like, The Doobie Brothers, Ike Turner, The Blues Babys, Sister Sister's and New Jack Blues Band. With his wife La Vonia Shepard they forumed the supergroup "King Forte".
